Bang & Olufsen

Bang & Olufsen (B&O) is a manufacturer of high-end domestic audio/video and car audio entertainment systems. The division participating is responsible for developing the audio and video products for B&O.

B&O’s contributions to the CoSound project are: 1) Perceptual verification and testing of the developed algorithms, including audio, video and user interface tests. These tests will draw upon B&O’s expertise and long experience in this area, specialized facilities (standardized listening and viewing rooms, and special facilities for user-interface tests), and a highly trained team of tests subjects. 2) The MOTS project has developed an algorithm that enables the audio system to generate a play list with More-Of-The-Same (MOTS) music, based on the music being listened. The algorithm is currently implemented in the product Beosound 5 and is constantly undergoing further developments.

Head of Research Søren Bech, also a part time professor at Aalborg University, is a member of the steering committee in CoSound.
